ABA / RSVP Flooring: Vinyl Layers Above and Below a Rigid SPC Core
ABA flooring is a three-part rigid click floor: a vinyl (LVT) layer, a rigid SPC core, then another vinyl layer, which is where the A-B-A name comes from. Ecoflors makes it at our Jiaxing factory in 4.5–8.0 mm, as planks up to 228 × 1,820 mm, a 110 × 610 mm herringbone and a 305 × 610 mm tile. An attached underlay is an option, not part of the name. Datasheet and test documents are matched to the SKU you quote.

What ABA means
Inside an ABA Board
Short answerIn ABA flooring, “A” is a vinyl (LVT) layer and “B” is the rigid SPC core. The core sits between two vinyl layers, with the printed decor and wear layer on top. Some listings expand ABA as “acoustic backing attached”. That is not what the name means here: an attached underlay is a separate option chosen per SKU.
Ecoflors also lists this range as RSVP, and in several markets the same build is sold as ABA hybrid flooring. What matters on an order is the layer build written on the datasheet, not the trade name.

Layer thicknesses inside the board vary by build and are given on the datasheet for the SKU. If your market needs a specific underlay (for example an IXPE pad of a set thickness), say so at enquiry and we confirm what can be attached.

Both are rigid click floors and share several datasheet values. The difference is the build around the core. Values below are datasheet design values, not third-party test results.

IIC, STC and ΔIIC: What a Rating Actually Covers
An IIC or STC rating describes a whole floor-ceiling assembly: slab or joists, ceiling, insulation, underlay and floor covering together. The same board can rate very differently over a bare concrete slab and over a slab with a suspended ceiling. STC depends mainly on the structure; a floor covering changes it little. That is why we don’t print one acoustic number for the ABA range.

What We Supply
Tell us the assembly your acoustic consultant is working with and the rating the project names. We reply with the report we hold for that board and underlay build, or tell you plainly that we don’t hold one. Where a new test is needed, the build, lab and cost are agreed before the order.
The same rule applies to fire and emissions documents. A floor fire class or a low-VOC certificate covers the tested product, so we match reports to the SKU and market; see certifications.

What does ABA mean in flooring?
It describes the layer order: A is a vinyl (LVT) layer, B is the rigid SPC core, so an ABA board has vinyl above and below the core, with the decor and wear layer on top. It is not short for “acoustic backing attached”. An attached underlay is a separate option on Ecoflors ABA.
Is RSVP the same product as ABA?
On ecoflors.com, yes: ABA / RSVP is one range. Other suppliers use these names differently, so compare the layer build on each datasheet rather than the trade name.
Is ABA the same as hybrid flooring?
Not always. In Australia and New Zealand, “hybrid flooring” usually means any rigid core click floor, most often standard SPC. ABA hybrid is one specific build within that group: vinyl layers above and below the SPC core. When a customer asks for hybrid, check which build they mean. We make both; standard rigid core is on our SPC flooring page.
What sizes and thicknesses are available?
Planks of 150 × 1,220, 183 × 1,220, 228 × 1,220, 228 × 1,524 and 228 × 1,820 mm, a 110 × 610 mm herringbone and a 305 × 610 mm tile. Each comes in 4.5, 5, 6, 7 or 8 mm. Wear layers run from 0.2 to 0.7 mm (about 8 to 28 mil).
Does ABA flooring come with an attached underlay?
It can. Whether an underlay is attached, and its material and thickness, is chosen per SKU. Tell us what your market expects and we confirm what can be attached and how it changes total thickness and carton weight.
What IIC and STC ratings does ABA achieve?
We don’t publish range-wide ratings, because IIC and STC describe a whole floor-ceiling assembly, not a board. Send us your assembly and the rating your project names (in the US, the International Building Code asks for 50 between dwelling units in lab tests). We reply with the report we hold for that build, or tell you we don’t hold one.
Which certificates come with ABA for the US or EU?
Documents are matched to the SKU and destination at quotation. Fire classes, low-VOC certificates and slip ratings cover the tested product, so a report for one build doesn’t automatically cover another. List what your customers ask for and we confirm what we hold before you order.
What is the minimum order, and can I private-label?
800 m² per existing design or colour, and from 2,200 m² for a custom decor. Production lead time is generally 35–40 days, reconfirmed when the order is placed. Private-label cartons and labels are available, with conditions confirmed per order.
