2mm Dryback LVT is a low-profile glue-down vinyl floor with no locking profile and no attached underlay. We make it as a wood-grain plank for importers, distributors and private-label programmes supplying apartments, rental housing and light-commercial rooms, where cost per square metre and how much floor fits in a container carry as much weight as the finish.

Selection
When Does 2mm Dryback LVT Make Sense?
2mm is a different specification with a different job, not a cheaper version of the 2.5mm build. It earns its place on large, price-per-metre programmes with a well-prepared base.
Specify 2mm when
- The programme is bought by the container. In the same plank size, this build weighs less per square metre than our 2.5mm build, so a container that reaches its weight limit carries more floor. The packing data shows the weights.
- Finished floor height has to stay low, for example over an existing hard floor or where door clearances are tight.
- Traffic is residential or light commercial. The class on our datasheet is in the classification table.
- The subfloor is already well prepared, or the budget covers levelling before the adhesive goes down.
Specify something else when
- The schedule names a higher class. Look at the 2.5mm Dryback build or the 3mm commercial build.
- Adhesive isn’t allowed, or the floor has to come up again: Click LVT floats instead.
- Tiles need to lift out for service access: loose lay vinyl.
- The base can’t be brought to a smooth, level finish. Fix the base first. No glue-down floor hides a poor one, and a 2mm floor hides it least.

Choosing the Right Wear Layer
0.30 mm is the documented option on this build
ISO 10582:2017 sets 0.30 mm as the minimum wear layer for Class 31. On a 2mm build that makes 0.30 mm the starting point for light-commercial use, not a margin above it. A thinner wear layer falls into the residential classes of the standard.
Meeting the minimum is necessary but not sufficient, so the class for the exact SKU is confirmed before it goes on a submittal. If the schedule calls for more wear than this, the 2.5mm build is where the heavier wear layers start.

The 2mm build clears both ISO 10582:2017 minimums for Class 31: the wear-layer minimum and the overall-thickness minimum. Where a tender names a class, we confirm it against the report for the SKU being quoted.

Fire, slip and emissions results only cover the construction, thickness and wear layer that went through the test, so we don’t publish them as a blanket rating for this build. Surface and Edge
The 2mm datasheet covers one surface: a natural wood-grain texture under a UV-cured matte finish, with a micro bevel on all four edges. Embossed-in-register, other textures and a square edge are not on this datasheet. If your programme needs one of them, name it in the enquiry and we’ll confirm it for the décor and SKU before quoting.

A loaded 20 ft container of this build reaches its weight limit before it runs out of space. Because the 2mm plank weighs less per square metre, the same weight carries more floor than our 2.5mm build in the same 184.2 × 1219.2 mm plank. Weight limits differ by destination port and inland route, so we calculate the container quantity for your route rather than quoting one fixed figure.

Is 2mm Dryback LVT suitable for commercial projects?
For light-commercial rooms, yes, at the class shown in the classification table. Corridors, shops and anywhere with rolling loads need more wear than this build carries; the 2.5mm and 3mm Dryback pages cover those.
Can I order 2mm with a thicker wear layer?
Not from the current datasheet, which documents one wear layer. Ask, and we’ll confirm whether it can be made for your SKU. If the project needs a heavier wear layer as a matter of course, the 2.5mm build is usually the better starting point.
What subfloor does 2mm Dryback LVT need?
Sound, level, dry and clean, to the tolerance the adhesive manufacturer and your local installation standard set. Moisture is tested before the adhesive goes down, and the adhesive is one its maker approves for LVT on that substrate.
Does a thinner Dryback floor need stricter subfloor preparation?
In practice, yes. The finished floor follows the base under it, and at 2 mm there is very little material to mask a ridge, a trowel mark or a grout line. The written tolerance comes from the adhesive maker; the margin for error is what gets smaller. This is the single biggest factor in how a 2mm floor looks once it’s down.
Can 2mm Dryback LVT go over existing flooring?
Over a sound, well-bonded hard floor, often, if the adhesive maker’s substrate guidance allows it. Tile usually needs its grout lines filled and the surface skimmed first. Soft or floating floors come up.
Can different colours be mixed in one container?
Yes. Each colour meets its own minimum, listed in the ordering terms. Send the split by colour and we’ll work out the load.
Can Ecoflors make a different plank or tile size?
The 2mm datasheet covers one plank size. Tell us the size you need and we’ll check whether it can be made in this build, and at what minimum, before you commit to it.
How is colour kept consistent between production runs?
Printed vinyl varies slightly between runs, so the simplest control is ordering each colour’s full project quantity together. For a repeat order, tell us the original order and we’ll confirm how closely a new run can match before you commit.
