When Should You Specify 7mm?
Project is residential or light commercial — Class 31/33 sufficient
5mm or 6mm SPC is the correct specification. 7mm delivers identical compound performance (same ≤0.10% stability, same Bfl-S1, same peel resistance) at higher FOB cost and greater weight per container. Consequently, specifying 7mm in a residential context adds cost without any performance return relative to the actual utilisation class required.

Project requires EN 685 Class 42/43 — NL / DE / UK heavy commercial
7mm SPC is the minimum click SPC specification that achieves Class 42/43. Neither 5mm nor 6mm reaches this class regardless of wear layer selection. Specifically, for NL Woningcorporaties tenders, DE chain retail, UK Class 42 commercial renovation, and EU education and healthcare, 7mm with 0.55mm or 0.7mm wear layer is the only compliant click SPC specification.
