CE or UKCA for vinyl flooring in Great Britain?
CE marking continues to be recognised for construction products placed on the market in Great Britain, and UKCA remains an available route. Under current UK policy, any future change to CE recognition would have a transition period of at least two years. Northern Ireland follows a different route: CE, or CE with UKNI where a UK approved body performs the required third-party assessment. UKCA alone is not accepted in Northern Ireland.
Do the Building Regulations ask for Bfl-s1 on floors?
Approved Document B guidance on internal linings is written for wall and ceiling surfaces, and the Scottish standard 2.5 likewise covers wall and ceiling surfaces. A Bfl-s1 class for flooring usually comes from the project specification, the fire strategy or a client standard. Send the clause; we check which report, if any, covers your build.
Is an R10 rating enough for UK slip assessment?
Often not on its own. HSE identifies the pendulum test as its preferred method for floor slip resistance; a PTV of 36 or above is classed as low slip potential under the stated test conditions. HSE also states reservations about the DIN 51130 ramp test behind R ratings. Ask your client for the PTV, slider and wet or dry condition they need; we check which slip data exist for the build.
Which commodity code and duty apply?
PVC floor coverings such as SPC, LVT and ABA fall under subheading 3918.10; the 10-digit code depends on the construction and is confirmed by your customs agent. Duty and any measures are set in the UK Global Tariff, published on the UK Trade Tariff service. A GB EORI number is needed to import.
Will the VOC documents count for BREEAM?
The BREEAM assessor decides. The VOC documents available are GREENGUARD Gold certificates with a stated thickness scope and an Indoor Air Comfort Gold test report from Eurofins that references BREEAM International. UK projects usually run on BREEAM UK schemes, so the assessor confirms whether a document is accepted. Tell us the scheme version and credit.
Who issues the DoP if we sell under our own brand?
A company that sells a construction product under its own name or brand may be treated as the manufacturer and have to issue the Declaration of Performance. We share the test reports available for the build you buy. Settle this before cartons are printed.
Which build to put
on your specification?
Click builds float on attached IXPE, with no adhesive. Dryback builds are glued to a prepared, dry screed for larger commercial areas. With Dryback, impact sound depends on the whole floor system, including screed, adhesive and building structure; do not attribute an acoustic result to the product without the matching test.

Order terms

What the floor proves,
and what the project decides.
UK specifications often list product documents, floor-system requirements and building requirements side by side. Product documents cover the floor itself. Subfloor, underlay, adhesive, impact sound and underfloor heating belong to the floor system; fire strategy, slip risk assessment and BREEAM credits are decided on the building. We supply the product data the specifier, installer or assessor needs, build by build.

Stock programmes and mixed containers
You buy by colour and carton, and need the same build from the approved sample to the repeat container, with documents that match what you sell.

One specification across blocks and phases
You specify at scheme level and order in phases. Tell us the phasing, the colours and the documents your fire strategy and employer’s requirements call for.

Specification clauses you must sign off
You install to the specification and carry the warranty. Send the clauses for fire class, slip (PTV), use class and any chemical or hygiene requirements.

Carton, label, sample boards and schedule are fixed before production. If your company name goes on the product, agree who issues the Declaration of Performance and whose name and address appear on the label before artwork is signed off. Send the approved artwork; we print to the file.
